A camping
tent for all seasons
When choosing accessories to take with you on an expedition into
the great unknown, one of the most important choices that you
will make is which camping tent to purchase. It is not merely a
question of whether to take one camping tent or several, but
also to choose the right type of tent for the climate.
Weight is, as always a critical factor in choosing the right
camping tent for your trip. Part of the decision will revolve
around whether the tent needs to stand up to extremely adverse
conditions, such as wind, rain and severe cold. This will, in
turn dictate the approximate price bracket that the tent falls
into.
If the camping tent can be split across several loads, then this
will also carry an advantage – each member of the party can
carry a bit of it, which means that, as a whole, each person
will probably have to carry less weight.
This will mean, though, that the camping tent will potentially
need to have several different compartments, so that all members
of the camping party can be accommodated, and will also be a
slightly more expensive model than the smaller, single skin,
versions.
The final important point to look for in finding a camping tent
which will be durable and comfortable is that the groundsheet is
of the bathtub variety. This means that the groundsheet is
folded up at the edges, and water will not leak in, spoiling
everyone’s night. It is one of those little advantages that put
some tents head and shoulders above the others.
