Inside the
range of Coleman stoves
Coleman is a company which is renowned for making lanterns, and
other equipment which burns liquid fuel and produces either heat
or light. Of the range of lesser known items are the Coleman
stoves, which are all designed with a very specific purpose in
mind. There are Coleman stoves for the backpacker, for the
ultralight backpacker, for the back yard, and even for taking
across country in an SUV for those who need a larger cooking
device.
The range of Coleman stoves also include dual fuel models which
can burn either canisters of liquid propane or butane as well as
unleaded fuel, which is perfect if you are planning a visit to
an area where gas canisters might not be immediately available.
One thing that does not appear in the range of Coleman stoves is
a new kind of stove which is favored by ultralight backpackers
for its’ portability – the alcohol fueled stove. Instead,
Coleman have turned towards creating a very lightweight propane
based stove, in preference to trying to mimic the design of
products manufactured by companies such as Trangia.
Besides Coleman stoves themselves, there is a range of
interesting accessories and add-ons, from their own brand of
fuel through to special wheel based trolleys for moving the
larger gas based grills and stoves around.
All in all, the range of Coleman stoves and accessories is set
to become as prevalent and popular, if not quite as large, as
their range of lanterns – after all, it is the lantern that the
company uses for a mascot, and this remains their strength.
