Banish nasty
personal odors with portable showers
If you’ve ever been camping away from civilization for any
length of time, you will know that one of the big problems is
keeping fresh – this can now be solved with one of a range of
portable showers. Besides those portable showers which are
destined for use at base camp, there are also a wide variety of
smaller models, including some which are fully submersible and
battery operated to that they will work anywhere to keep you
fresh after a long days trek.
The larger models of portable showers are designed to be mounted
in the sunlight so that they provide up to 5 gallons of warm
water. These also include pumps which can be connected to the
car cigarette lighter and so are perfect for use at base camp
where sanitation facilities may not always be guaranteed.
While the use of a shower tent is obviously not obligatory, some
owners of portable showers feel more comfortable if they are not
freshening up with an audience, and hence a range of teepee like
options have appeared on the market.
If carrying around batteries to power the shower is not
possible, then there are also many portable showers which are
gravity fed, thus removing the need for a pump, and hence power.
At the other end of the price range, there are also more
advanced models of portable showers which come with heat on
demand systems to deliver piping hot water, whatever the
weather, perfect for washing people, or even helping out with
the dirty dishes!
