Keep clean
with outside showers
It is the holiday season again, and again the camp site will be
flooded with people all trying to take a shower at the same time
– the solution is in taking your own outdoor showers with you.
They are no longer luxury items since the portability and
features offered by today’s outdoor showers, even the budget
ones means now more queuing whilst you keep clean.
Outdoor showers are also great to have at home – to clean off
after a hard day working in the garden, for example, and
therefore a purchase which will have dual usage. There are many
outdoor showers to choose from, however, and all have their
advantages and disadvantages.
Portable outdoor showers offer the possibility to take your
shower to the camp site for a more private showering experience.
They are usually available in either solar heating or electrical
heating versions. To guarantee that hot shower, the electrical
ones usually draw power for the pump and heating coil from a
vehicle battery.
As an aside, propane heated outdoor showers also exist, but they
have the disadvantage of being rather bulky to carry around, and
unless you have space in the SUV, it will be better to look for
a battery operated version.
Finally, outdoor showers are designed to be used quickly, and
possibly only to get the worst of the dirt off. For those who
want a little privacy while they clean up, there are also a
variety of different teepee style shower tents which can be
purchased to offer some protection from prying eyes.
