Top camping
tips
The internet contains a cornucopia of camping tips, if you know
where to look for them – everything from frugal tips to useful
answers ‘what to do if’ kind of questions. However, some need to
be taken with a pinch of salt, because there are camping tips
which are actually dangerous to put into place, and although
someone else might have tried it in the past, there are many
good reasons why you should not actually put it into practice in
the future.
Many of these supposed top camping tips that come from the
internet relate to the three most dangerous activities –
heating, lighting and cooking. All of these involve fire or at
the very least heat, and it is never a good idea to try and
second guess manufacturers by coming up with a homemade replica
and then claiming superiority.
So, it turns out that one of the best camping tips that can be
found on the internet is to always buy your cooking, heating and
lighting equipment, and do not try to make it yourself. It is
dangerous. This include so called tips like making an alcohol
fueled stove out of a soda can, very dangerous, get a Trangia
instead, and putting candles in a glass pot with holes drilled
in the lid to act as a tent heater. You will burn your fingers,
because glass does not glow when hot and it is likely that
someone will forget what the jar was used for.
There are good camping tips to be found, though, you just need
to ask yourself twice before actually using it as a mainstay for
your vacation experience.
